Sr. High Student Ministries

Cambium

Wednesday night is our weekly meeting time for Sr. High students. We have been creating a culture that is worshipful, prayerful, welcoming, relevant, and led by the Holy Spirit. We laugh a lot, drink coffee, use YouTube clips in our lessons and ask thought provoking questions in small groups for the sake of discussion. Our hope is that our students love God more, while following Christ and allowing themselves to be guided by the Spirit. We meet from 7:30-9:30 PM in the Fireside Room.

Sunday School

Sunday School meets from 9:15-10:15 AM on Sundays during the Church calendar year (which generally follows the school year). This is our weekly time for Junior and Senior High students to meet in their respective groups and explore some of the deeper aspects of the Christian faith through scripture, group discussion, and multimedia.

Worship

The worship team is open to those in grades 9-12. Students who have a desire to serve God through music are given many different opportunities to use these gifts for God’s glory. The team meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM.

SALT

Student Action Leadership Team (SALT) is a group of students that have demonstrated the qualities of Christ, want to grow closer to Him, and have a desire to see their friends do the same. The SALT Team meets twice a month for a time of leadership, peer care and peer evangelism training. Also during the meetings, the students provide feedback to the youth leaders about events and activities from a teens point of view. Members of the SALT team are selected by the Youth Leaders in September of each year and must go through an application process.

Swim and Study

From June to August, we meet at a different house each Wednesday to swim and hear the Word! Come and join us for this great time of fellowship. Dates, times, and directions will be provided. This is for both Jr and Sr High.

Special Events

Winter Retreat: Every January we take advantage of the long weekend, Martin Luther King Day, and go up to Camp of the Woods, in Speculator, NY. We have a great time together skiing at Gore Mt., hearing God’s word from a special speaker, and worshiping together. There are also many other special events and surprises during the weekend.

Fall Retreat: Early in the fall, after we are all back in the groove of the school year, we like to get together to focus on Christ and what He has in store for us in the new school year. During the retreat we like to take some time from having fun and do some community service to show the love of Christ to the people around us.

Summer Trip: Each Summer we pack up and hit the road for week long trip. Working at a children’s camp, attending great youth conferences, and going on a special mission trip are some of the places we have gone.

Turkey Tackle: This takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving for both Junior and Senior High students. Football and pizza!!!

Senior Sneak: Last trip with our graduating seniors….where are we going…? You’ll have to wait ‘til we get there!

Paintball: Skirmish, Pa, is where we head off to for Young Gunz…pay your age! This is usually in May or June on a Saturday. You do not need your own paintball gun, they provide everything you need!

Random Stuff: Through out the year we take trips to Dorney Park, Great Adventure, Mountain Creek, New York City and who knows where. Check out the youth calendar to see where we are going next.
