Theology: Who is God?
We continue this week with the videos from The Truth Project. This weeks lesson is entitled Theology: Who is God? According to their website, “Eternal life, according to Jesus, is knowing God in an intimate, personal, and relational way. Such knowledge, which is possible only because of divine revelation, transforms us from the inside out as we begin to see ourselves in the light of His majesty and holiness.”
Come and join us while we watch these life changing videos.

Anthropology: Who Is Man?
According to their website, “the Bible tells us that man was created in God’s image but fell from innocence through sin. Modern psychology, on the other hand, asserts that man is inherently good and behaves badly only under the influence of social or institutional pressure. This lesson explores the implications of both views.”
Come join us while we watch these life changing videos. The videos are shown at 6:30 in the Fireside room on Sunday Evenings.

Philosophy and Ethics: Says Who?
From The Truth Project’s website description of lesson two, “truth is not simply an academic concept. The way we think about truth has a direct bearing upon the way we live our lives. What’s more, our understanding of right and wrong is directly dependent on our worldview: is the universe God’s creation or a closed cosmic cube?”
Come join us as we watch these informative and life changing videos. Even if you missed the first lesson, feel free to join us for the rest of the lessons.

Late last year, MEFC started what we have called the “Kingdom Assignments”. These focus on members time, talents, and treasures. Our first Kingdom Assignment, affectionately called Kingdom Assignment #1, focused on “talents”. There will be more Kingdom Assignments later this year.
During one of the church services last year, approximately 50 members were given a seed amount of $100 to multiply as much as possible using whatever “talent” God gave them. Many made and sold food items, some made decorations for sale, and others used their talents such as making music CDs, selling books, and more. The money they raise from their activities will be brought back to the church to be distributed.
MEFC has decided to divide the moneys between two deserving charities and the town of Montvale, where we are located. We chose a charity organization from Rockland County, NY – Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland County. The other charity was a Bergen County, NJ based organization, Zoe’s Place. These two counties represent where the large majority of our church members reside. Our church mission is to be “a Christ-centered community of good neighbors”. Donating to these charities close to home is a great way to live up to that.
Our Kingdom Assignment Celebration Service will take place January 29th. Montvale Mayor Roger Fyfe and representatives from each charity will be present on that day to accept the donations raised by members of the MEFC family using their “talents”.
You can find out about the receiving charities and the town of Montvale from their links below:
