The men’s fall retreat will be at America’s Keswick in Whiting, NJ, in the pinelands of south Jersey. Pastor Sam will be presenting the Personal Holiness in Times of Temptation video series.
There are a range of activities included:

- extra large gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, indoor tennis, pingpong, and shuffleboard

- nature trails for hiking or strolling

A Benefit for the Camper Scholarship Fund
Celebrating 50 Years of Christian Camping
This year will be the 20th year of the Camp Spofford Golf Classic in conjunction with the Camp’s celebration of 50 years of Christian Camping. Last year’s event raised over $21,000 for the Camper Scholarship Fund. Using this money, 75 Camper Scholarships were awarded. None of the proceeds were used for camp administrative costs.
The Golf Classic will be held at the Minisceongo Golf Course in Pomona, NY. This beautiful course is a private club just a few minutes drive from the Tappan Zee Bridge. Click here to see the webpage for the golf course. The fee for the event is $175 per player. The fee includes:

- Cart

- Hot dog, chips, and soft drink lunch

CareNet is holding a golf tournament. The tournament takes place Tuesday May 1 with a shotgun start at 8:00. It will be held at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York.
The cost is $150 per golfer. There will be breakfast and lunch and a variety of prizes and drawings. Please make checks payable to Care Net. You can find a link to the registration form below.

The Walter Hoving Home Choir will be singing Tuesday, March 27, during the Ladies RefresHER. The Walter Hoving Home is a non-profit, faith-based rehabilitation center serving women 18 years and older who have been involved in drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other life-controlling problems.
We are collecting gently used professional clothing and shoes to be given to the ladies from the home. The idea is for the clothes to be worn to interviews as they transition out of the program.
Even if you can not attend their presentation, please bring clothes for the donation. There is a clothing rack in the narthex where you can hang up the clothes or leave bags.

The youth will be participating in the Montvale Clean-up Day, Saturday March 31. This allows us to live our mission statement to be a Christ-centered community of good neighbors.
The clean up starts at 9AM and goes to noon. Mark your calendars now and be a part of this community event.

This Sunday, the adult Sunday School class will present a special video from Dave Ramsey, The Great Misconception. According to Dave Ramsey’s website,
this lesson will challenge the way you think about money. Dave will show you how generous giving can completely revolutionize your attitude and improve your finances, business and relationships.
Because of the length of the video, the class starts at 9:15AM sharp. Please plan on attending this special video.

March’s Young at Heart luncheon will include a presentation from Betsy Coyne, The PC Teacher. Come brush up on things like the internet, Facebook, digital photographs, and just generally “using” your computer. Since 1987, she has trained thousands of people and she is known for her practical, focused training. You can read more about her from her website.
Please contact the church office to register for the luncheon. Due to space constraints, you must register by March 19. The luncheon is $6 per person and includes the presentation.

Community Events
MEFC has a full Easter weekend planned as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. All the events are open to everyone in the community. Come enjoy the following activities with us:
Good Friday Service 7:30pm
MEFC will have a Good Friday service at 7:30pm in the sanctuary. The service will include a lot of special music from the choir, the handbells, and we will partake in communion.
Community Easter Eggstravaganza 10:00 – 12:00
Saturday, April 7 MEFC will host our second annual Easter Eggstravaganza. This rain-or-shine event was a big hit last year and we look forward to hosting another. There will be a bounce house, face painting and, of course, an Easter egg hunt. Stay after and have a free hot dog lunch.
Easter Sunday
Sunrise Service 6:30am
There will be a short service at sunrise “on the hill”. Come join this special outdoor celebration. If the weather does not permit outside services, we will still meet in the sanctuary.
Light Breakfast 7:00am
There will be a light breakfast served in the fellowship hall after the sunrise service.
Easter Worship Celebration 10:30am
Come join the celebratory service as we remember Christ’s resurrection. There will be lots of singing and special music throughout the service.
