Church Business meeting to vote to confirm call to pastorate at MEFC
Joshua Rasdall was born in southern California, but spent his formative years in Durango, Colorado, having moved there at the age of ten. After graduating from High School, he attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan. It was there he met his sweetheart and now bride of ten years, Jessica.
Both Joshua and Jessica received music degrees at Hope, and, after playing his trumpet professionally for several years, Josh heard the call to full-time ministry while serving as a lay worship leader at East Evangelical Free Church in Wichita, Kansas. After having his call confirmed by the elders, East E. Free supported Josh and Jessica’s move to attend Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, so that Joshua could obtain a Master of Divinity degree (which, according to Jessica, will be his third and hopefully final certificate from an institution of higher learning.) During his time in Deerfield, IL, Josh worked as the Director of Youth Ministries at Park Ridge Presbyterian Church, just outside the city of Chicago, in order to gain both pastoral experience and serve the local church during his seminary training.
Currently Josh is completing an internship in the areas of Youth and Family back at East Evangelical Free in Wichita to fulfill his final academic obligation. He, along with Jessie, are also spending the best parts of their free time playing with Isaiah, their almost-two-year-old, whose hobbies include pillows and applesauce.

This year MEFC is hosting the Ladies Retreat to Camp Spofford September 14-16. There will be several seminars to choose from as well as crafts to do. The registration is open on a first come, first served basis.
The seminars are:
- The Idiot’s Guide to Bible Study Studying the Bible on your own doesn’t have to be hard. Come and learn an easy way to get more out of your personal Bible study.
- Leaving a Godly Legacy What have you inherited? How does who you are contribute to God’s unfolding story throughout the generations?
- “Does this make me look fat?” … “Do I smell like smoke?” … “Can I get that on sale?” Find out how these seemingly silly questions reveal a lot about our heart attitudes in regard to pride, bitterness and submission to God’s work in our lives.
- If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Practical hospitality in our homes, church and sphere of influence.
Please make your checks payable to Montvale Evangelical Free Church and mark Ladies Spofford Retreat in the memo line. You can mail the registration to the church office or drop it off.
